Prior to contact with European newcomers, the Stó:lō traditional territory included all of the Fraser River watershed and the surrounding areas-from current-day Yale all the way west to the Pacific ocean. The territory extended up to Harrison Lake, including Pitt River and surrounding waterways, as well as the head of Indian Arm in North Vancouver.
