Xa:ls the Transformer

Xa:ls the Transformer, in his attempt to re-create balance in the world, transformed people who acted wrongly into stone, and generous people into valuable resources (i.e. cedar, sturgeon, and beaver). The people that he chose not to transform took on the permanent forms of people, plants and animals, as well as land features such as rivers and mountains. The Transformer's actions became examples that the people could emulate in order to live a balanced life.
