Spinning the Wool

Many types of raw materials have been used to weave, and the choice depends on the desired final product. Although wool is very important in the production of ceremonial blankets, it is not the only raw material that is used for weaving clothing and textiles . In the past, cedar bark and stinging nettle were the most utilized materials for weaving, and are found in clothing, basketry, and blankets. They often had plant or animal down woven in for added warmth.
