Case: CFR 139 Determining sex

As the forensic anthropologist, your first step is to determine the sex of the unknown individual. This could reduce the number of possible matches by half! Because males do not give birth and females do, their pelves are very different. Examining the pelvis will indicate if the remains are male of female.

For each of the features shown, compare the pelvic bones of the unknown individual with the examples of male and female pelves.
